How Season Memory works
Season Memory turns a few details into a football trading card you can print at 2.5 × 3.5 inches. Start with one card, then build a whole team.

The quick version
- Open the card maker. To try it first, open the live demo.
- Set up your team: give it a name and choose its kit colours. This comes first, before any player.
- Tap a player on the team page, then fill in the sections on the left. The card on the right changes as you go.
- Print a card, export the team as a PDF, or keep your work: save it as a ZIP on your own device and open it again later.
On a phone the card sits at the top and the sections follow underneath. Tap a section's title to open or close it.
What is on this website
- Home shows what the card maker does, the prices, what's new in each build, and a form to request a feature.
- Live demo is the whole card maker with a watermark across every card. It first asks which version you would like to try: Family, Team, Pro-Team, Club or Pro Club, then asks you to set up a team and its kit colours. You can switch at any time with the buttons at the top. It also has a button to download the example team, Bluebridge Wanderers: save the ZIP, then choose Open a saved file… in the demo and pick it.
- Your card maker is the version you subscribe to: Family, Team, Pro-Team, Club or Pro Club. It has no watermark. Every plan is a 12-month subscription with a login of its own. Sign in, and your dashboard lets you make your page (see Your dashboard, pages and managers).
- Instructions is this page.
- Privacy explains what happens to your photos and details. The short answer: your photos stay on your device.
You need an internet connection while you make a card, because the page loads its fonts and QR-code script from the internet.
Choose your plan
| Plan | What you can make | Good for |
|---|---|---|
| Family | Up to 7 people in one set | Ideal for 5-a-side, or your own children and their friends |
| Team | One team of 21 players: 11 starters and 10 substitutes | One team |
| Pro-Team | One team of 21 players, plus fixtures from Excel or CSV, settings for each game and spider graphs of player performance for every game | A team that wants to look back at each game |
| Club | A club page that holds up to 12 teams, each with its own 21 players, a private page for each team, and a login for each team manager | A whole club, from under-7s to adults |
| Pro Club | Everything in Club, and every team has the Pro-Team match tools: fixtures, game settings, ratings and spider graphs | A club that wants to look back at each game, team by team |
Every plan has the same card features, and every plan except Family can also add an optional Manager Card to each team (see Manager Card). Family, Team and Club differ in the size of the set. Pro-Team is a Team with the match tools added (see Pro-Team). Pro Club is a Club in which every team has those tools. The Club plan does not include them. Club and Pro Club also let the club admin invite team managers (see Your dashboard, pages and managers).
A plan opens its own kind of saved file. A family file opens in the Family version. A team file opens in the Team version and the Pro-Team version, and in the Club and Pro Club versions, where it is added as another team. A team file that holds games shows them in Pro-Team and Pro Club. The Team and Club versions open it as a plain team, leave the games out and tell you, and your file is unchanged. A club file opens in the Club and Pro Club versions, and its games show in Pro Club only. If a file needs a different plan, the card maker says so and changes nothing.
Make a card
You make a card by tapping a player on the team page, after you have set up the team (see Make a family, team or club). Everything you change appears on the card straight away. You can also click any text on the card, such as the name or a stat, and type on it.
Player
Type the Player name and Team name, then choose a Position. There are 14: striker, left and right wing, defensive, central and attacking midfield, left and right midfield, centre back, left and right back, left and right wing back, and goalkeeper. A new position swaps in that position's six stats and renames them. A goalkeeper gets DIV, HAN, KIC, REF, SPD and POS, for example.
If you want one, type a Shirt number from 0 to 99. It shows under the position on the front of the card. Leave it empty and nothing shows.
Kit colours
Tap one of the 18 two-colour kits, such as red and white, black and white, yellow and green, or purple and blue. Colour 1 and Colour 2 fill in, and the card changes to match. To use your own colours, change Colour 1 and Colour 2 directly. The lighter colour becomes the outline, glow and headings. The darker colour becomes the card background. They can go in either order.
Background style
Choose one of ten designs for the front and back of the card: Angles, Hexagons, Chevrons, Pitch (football pitch markings), Triangles, Stripes, Sunburst, Halftone (dots that grow across the card), Waves or Floodlights (two beams of light from the top corners). Each one is drawn in your kit colours.
Picture
Under Show a, choose Photo, Character or Animal.
- Photo. Choose Choose photo, click the shield on the card, or drop a picture onto it. Drag the photo inside the shield, or use the Zoom, Left / right and Up / down sliders, to centre the face. Reset position starts again.
- Remove background. This works best on a plain, even background. Set the position first, then tick Remove background. Use Tolerance to remove more or less and Softness to smooth the edge. For the last few bits, set Touch-up to Erase or Restore and paint on the photo. Moving the photo again clears the touch-ups.
- Character. Choose Male or Female, then one of 12 heads. Set the Jersey and Collar colours, or choose Match card to follow your kit.
- Animal. Pick one of 18: lion, tiger, wolf, bear, fox, eagle, bull, shark, panda, rabbit, dog, panther, donkey, cheetah, owl, ram, bee or goat.
Choose Add badge to put a club badge on the card. Tick Show a flag and choose Add flag to add a flag under it.
Stats
Type the six stats, each from 0 to 99. The overall rating (OVR) is worked out from them, weighted for the position. To type your own OVR, untick Work out OVR from the stats. Colour-code the stat bars turns the bars green, yellow, orange or red by size.
Awards and rank
Choose an Award: Player of the Week, Month or Season. The card gets a shimmering foil effect and a ribbon along the bottom, dated from your device's clock. Rank shimmer sets the metal colour to bronze, silver or gold, which replaces your kit colours on that card.
The back of the card
Open Back of the card, and choose Flip card under the card to see the result.
- Season numbers. Three numbers, such as appearances, goals and assists. Defenders and goalkeepers get clean sheets, tackles or saves instead.
- Targets. Choose Targets for Next week, Next month or Next year, then pick Target 1 and Target 2. The choices suit the player's position, and the numbers grow with the time. A striker's goal target is 1 for next week, 3 for next month and 15 for next year. You cannot pick the same target twice, and you can choose None to leave a slot empty. If you change the position, a target that no longer fits is swapped for one that does.
- Coach's note. A short message, up to 400 characters.
- QR code link. Type a web address, such as your team page. The QR code on the back points to it.
Examples of targets for next month
| Position | Examples |
|---|---|
| Striker | Score 3 goals · Hit 10 shots on target |
| Winger | Beat a defender 10 times · Deliver 8 accurate crosses |
| Attacking midfield | Create 8 chances for team-mates · Play 6 through passes |
| Central midfield | Win 8 tackles · Make 8 interceptions |
| Centre back | Help keep 2 clean sheets · Win 10 headers |
| Full back | Make 6 overlapping runs · Deliver 6 accurate crosses |
| Goalkeeper | Keep 3 clean sheets · Make 15 saves |
| Any position | Attend every training session · Learn a new skill or trick |
Make a family, team or club
Step 1: set up the team
After you choose a plan (or a version in the demo), the first screen is Set up your team. Type the team's name and choose its kit colours: tap one of the 18 kits, or pick your own Colour 1 and Colour 2. A small card shows how they will look. You cannot make a player until the team has a name. In the Club version you type the club's name and the name of its first team.
Step 2 is making the players. Every player starts blank, with your team's name and kit colours, and you set up each card by tapping the player.
Family and 5-a-side
The Family version is ideal for 5-a-side. It holds up to 7 people, so a five-a-side team and its substitutes fit in one set. It suits your own children and their friends just as well. After you name it, choose Create my family or 5-a-side team. You start with one person. Tap Add person to add more, up to 7. Tap anyone to set up their card, and choose ← Back to family when you finish. Remove this person takes someone out.
Team
Choose Create a team of 21 players. You get 11 starters and 10 substitutes, set out as a 4-4-2 to start with. The slots keep a goalkeeper, defenders, midfielders and strikers, so the team always has every position. Choose another Formation on the team page, or change any player's position by hand (see Formations and shirt numbers). A line under the heading counts the goalkeepers, defenders, midfielders and forwards in the starting XI and the subs, and warns you if the starting XI has no goalkeeper or is missing a line. Tap a player to set up their card, then choose ← Back to team.
Club and Pro Club
Choose Create a club of up to 12 teams (on the Pro Club plan, Create a Pro Club of up to 12 teams). To add another team, type its name, choose its kit colours and choose Add team. Repeat for each team, up to 12 (the screen shows how many you have used). Then open each team to set up its 21 players. ← All teams takes you back to the list. To bring in a team someone else made, choose Open a saved file… and pick their team ZIP: it is added to the club as another team. To give each team its own manager with their own login, see Your dashboard, pages and managers.
Grid, formation and list views
On the team page, three buttons above the players change how the team is shown. Grid shows every card as a tile, starting XI first and then the substitutes. Formation draws a pitch laid out in the team's formation, attack at the top and the goalkeeper at the bottom, with the substitutes on a bench below. In the Family version it groups people by position. List is a table with each player's number, position, overall rating, the six card stats, the season numbers and any award. Tap a player in any view to open their card.
Export a PDF
Choose the view you want, then choose Export … as PDF (its label names the view). Your browser's print window opens with a one-page sheet headed with the team name, colours and badge. Choose Save as PDF as the destination. The PDF follows the view: tiles for Grid, the pitch and bench for Formation, and the table for List. A team's Manager Card, if it has one, is printed under it. A long list continues on a second page. In the demo the sheet carries the watermark.
Remove a player
On the team page choose Remove players (in the Family version, Remove people). Every card gets a red ×. Tap the player you want to remove, in Grid, Formation or List view, and confirm. Choose Done removing when you have finished, and tapping a player opens their card again. You can also open a player's card and choose Remove this player.
In the Family version the person is taken out of the family, and the others move up. A family always keeps at least one person. In a Team, Pro-Team, Club or Pro Club team the 21 positions stay, so every formation still works. The removed player's card, picture, shirt number and award are cleared, and the spot goes back to an empty player in the same position, ready for someone new. In the Pro-Team and Pro Club versions their ratings in saved games are removed too, and the games themselves stay. A removed player cannot be brought back, so save the team first if you may want them again.
Awards for the team
On the team page, the Awards box has a row for Player of the Week, Player of the Month and Player of the Season. In each row, choose Add a player to give up to 3 players that award. Each player's card gets the shimmer and ribbon. Tap the × on a name to take the award away. A player holds one award at a time, and the editor will not let a 4th player take an award that 3 already hold. The Family plan has no Awards box, but you can still give anyone an award in their own card settings.
Manager Card (Team, Pro-Team, Club and Pro Club)
Each team can have one optional card for its manager or coach. On the team page, find the Manager card box (under the players, above Awards) and choose Add a Manager Card. The card editor opens with the same sections as a player's card. The differences are these. The position is fixed as MGR and there is no shirt number. The six ratings are TAC (tactics), MOT (motivation), COM (communication), DIS (discipline), DEV (player development) and SPI (team spirit), and the overall rating works itself out from them. The back of the card shows GAMES, WINS and DRAWS, two targets for the team, a manager's note and a QR code. The awards are Manager of the Week, Month and Season. You can click any rating or label on the card to rename it.
In the Pro-Team and Pro Club versions, Fill games, wins and draws from the team's games (in the Back of the card section) counts the games saved with the team that have a result. In the other versions, type the numbers in.
The card starts in the team's name and kit colours, and Apply to all players updates it along with everyone else. Choose ← Back to team when you finish. The card shows as a tile in the Manager card box: tap it, or choose Open Manager Card, to edit it again. To take it away, choose Remove Manager Card (or turn on Remove players and tap it) and confirm. You can add a new one later. The Manager Card is saved inside the team's ZIP, so it comes back when you open the team, and in a club every team keeps its own. In the PDF it is printed under the team. The Family version has no Manager Card.
A Manager Card is a card, not a login. A club manager's login, described in Your dashboard, pages and managers, is what lets a person open a team page.
Team colours and styles
The name and kit colours you chose in Step 1 go onto every person, and onto people you add later. On the team page you can change the team name, kit colours, background style and badge. Apply to all players copies the name, colours, background style and badge onto everyone already there. Each person keeps their own picture, award, flag and targets. A new team in a club has its own colours and badge, and follows the club's background style.
Formations and shirt numbers
Formations
In the Team, Pro-Team, Club and Pro Club versions each team has its own formation. On the team screen, open Formation and pick one of nine: 4-4-2, 4-3-3, 4-2-3-1, 4-5-1, 4-1-4-1, 3-5-2, 3-4-3, 5-3-2 or 5-4-1. The formation sets the 11 starting positions.
Each player stays in their place in the line-up and keeps their name, number, picture and stats. Their position changes to match the formation, and the six stat names on their card change with it. A stat with the same name in both positions, such as PAS or STA, keeps the number you typed. New stats start from that position's usual values, and a target that no longer suits the new position is swapped for one that does.
The 10 substitutes keep their positions. If named players are about to change position, the card maker asks you to confirm first. If you change one player's position by hand in their card settings, the Formation box shows Custom. The Family plan has no formations.
Shirt numbers
Type a Shirt number from 0 to 99 in the Player section. It is optional. The number shows under the position on the front of the card, next to the position on the back, and on the player's tile on the team screen. If two players have the same number, the team screen shows a warning. It does not stop you.
Pro-Team: fixtures, games and spider graphs
Pro-Team is a Team with match tools added. Choose Create a Pro-Team of 21 players. Then, on the team screen, use Upload fixtures… to bring in your fixtures, or Open matches to go to the Matches screen. Pro-Team has one team, like Team. On the Pro Club plan every team in the club has the same match tools, and each team keeps its own games; the Club plan does not include them.
Upload your fixtures
Use an Excel file (.xlsx) or a CSV file. Your first row needs headings. The sheet must have a Date column and an Opponent column. The rest are optional:
| Column | Headings it recognises | Example |
|---|---|---|
| Date | Date, Match date, Game date, Fixture date | 2026-09-05, 05/09/2026, Sat 5 Sep 2026, or an Excel date |
| Time | Time, Kick off, KO | 10:30 or 2:00 pm |
| Opponent | Opponent, Opposition, Opp, Vs | Riverside Rangers |
| Home or away | Home/Away, Venue, Location | H, Home, A, Away, N, Neutral |
| Competition | Competition, League, Type | League, Cup, Friendly |
| Goals | Goals for and Goals against (or GF and GA) | 3 and 1 |
| Score | Score, Result | 3-1 |
- Dates are read the UK way: 5/9/2026 is 5 September. Excel dates work as they are.
- A score such as 3-1 means your goals first. If the sheet has Home team and Away team columns instead of an Opponent column, the card maker finds your side by your team name (so make sure the team name matches), reads the score as home goals first, and turns it around for away games.
- Games with no result yet are fine. Leave the goals empty.
- A row with no date or no opponent is skipped, and the message tells you how many.
- If the workbook has several sheets, a sheet named Fixtures, Matches, Games or Schedule is tried first.
- Upload again at any time. A game with the same date and opponent is updated, not doubled, and its saved settings and ratings stay. A team holds up to 120 games.
- An old .xls file cannot be read. In Excel choose File, Save As, and pick Excel Workbook (.xlsx) or CSV.
Get a blank fixtures sheet on the Matches screen saves a CSV with the headings, ready to fill in. There is also an example season to try: fixtures-example.xlsx and fixtures-example.csv. Your spreadsheet is read on your own device and is never uploaded.
The Matches screen
The bar across the top has a slider with one dot for each game, coloured green for a win, amber for a draw, red for a loss and grey for no result yet. Drag the slider, use the arrow keys, press ‹ or ›, or click a dot to move to another game. The bar stays at the top as you scroll. Everything below it is for the game you have chosen:
- The game. Opponent, date, kick-off, home or away, competition and the score. Change any of them. Changing the date puts the game in the right place on the slider.
- Settings for this game. Choose the formation for that game, who plays in each position, which substitutes came on, the captain, and a note for the plan or match report. Use the team's lineup goes back to the lineup on the team screen. Copy the previous game's settings starts from the game before. The settings stay with that game, so you can look back at them later.
- Player ratings. For each player who played, give six ratings from 0 to 99, using the stat names for the position they played in that game, and an overall rating (OVR) is worked out. Fill from the cards starts each player from their card stats, and you adjust from there. Clear ratings starts again. Ratings are typed in the card maker. A fixtures sheet holds only the fixtures and results.
- Spider graphs. Each rated player gets a spider graph for the game. Click one to see it large, drawn over the player's season card (dashed) and their previous rated game (dotted), with a table of each rating and how far it is from the card, and a line showing their overall rating in every game they were rated. Move the slider to see the graphs for any past game.
Choose Save team as ZIP, on the Matches or the team screen, to keep the games. They are saved in the same ZIP as the team. On the Pro Club plan, Save club as ZIP keeps every team's games too.
Your dashboard, pages and managers
Everything you make lives on a page of its own. You make and manage your pages on your dashboard, the page you land on when you sign in. Signing in is the same on every plan.
Your page
- Family, Team and Pro-Team: you get one page. On the dashboard, type a name and choose Create my page. Its name and colours start the card maker with your team name and kit colours already filled in. Choose Open to use it.
- Club and Pro Club: you get one club page, which holds the whole club (up to 12 teams, saved together as one ZIP), and up to 12 team pages, one for each team. Each team page opens a Team card maker (a Pro-Team card maker on Pro Club) for that team alone.
A page has its own private address. It is not listed, not searchable, and it opens only for its owner, for a team page the manager assigned to it, and the site's administrators. Someone who is not signed in is sent to the sign-in page, and anyone else is turned away. Under Change name or colours, or delete on a page you can rename it, change its colours or delete it (deleting a page stops its address working; your ZIPs are not affected).
Invite a manager (Club and Pro Club)
On the dashboard, under Invite a manager, type the manager's email address (and their name if you like), choose a team page and choose Send invitation. You can invite up to 12 managers. They get an email, sent by the website, with a link to choose a password. The address must be new to the site: an email address that already has an account here is refused, so a manager who already has a login on the site needs a different address. (To stop the form being misused, one owner can make 20 invitation attempts an hour, and one address can be sent 3 invitations a day.) After that the manager signs in and sees only the team page or pages you give them. A team page has one manager at most, one manager can look after several team pages, and a team page can have none.
In the box for each team page, the Manager menu and Save manager choose who looks after it. In the list of managers you can choose Send invitation again if they lost the email, or Remove to take their login away (their team page and its name stay). The list shows who has not signed in yet. If the invitation email does not arrive, check that your website can send email.
What a manager can do
- They open their team page and make and edit its cards: formation, awards, team name, colours and badge, and on Pro Club the games and ratings.
- They save their work as a ZIP on their own device. Nothing is kept on the website.
- They never see the club page, the teams you have not given them, or the dashboard controls for the club.
Bringing a manager's team into the club
Because nothing is kept on the website, the manager sends you their team ZIP (by email, a shared folder or a messaging app). On the club page choose Open a saved file… and pick it: the team is added to your club. If the club already holds an older copy of that team, remove the old copy with the × on its team tile. Then Save club as ZIP to keep the whole club in one file.
Two-step login
Two-step login asks for a code from an authenticator app on your phone, as well as your password. Set it up once from your profile (the dashboard links to it). If the site requires it, you cannot open your pages or make changes on the dashboard until it is on.
When your 12 months end
Your pages are kept but locked, and the dashboard shows a Renew button. Renew and they open again at the same addresses. On a club plan your managers are locked out until you renew. Anything saved on your own device stays yours, and you can open it in the card maker again once you have renewed.
In the live demo
The demo has no dashboard, pages or managers. It is the card maker alone, so you can try every version. To see a finished team, download the example team (Bluebridge Wanderers) with the button in the demo and open it with Open a saved file….
Save and reopen your work
Save as a ZIP
Choose Save player as ZIP, Save team as ZIP, Save family as ZIP or Save club as ZIP. A ZIP is one file that holds a data file (.json) and a copy of every picture it uses, in a folder called images. The data file holds names, positions, stats, colours, settings, awards, shirt numbers and the team's Manager Card, and a Pro-Team or Pro Club's games, game settings and ratings. The ZIP is made on your own device and saved to your own device. It is the easiest way to back up your work or move it to another computer. If a picture was not loaded when you saved, the message tells you how many were left out.
Nothing is saved on this website. The ZIP is the only copy of your work, so keep it somewhere safe and save again after you make changes. We cannot recover a ZIP for you. Your page on the website only holds its name and colours.
Open a saved file
Choose Open a saved file… and select a ZIP. The pictures in a ZIP load by themselves. An older .json file from an earlier build opens too: for a .json, use Pictures folder… as described below, or select the .json together with the picture files, or add the pictures afterwards with Add images…. A notice lists any pictures that are not loaded yet. A team file with games opens in the Pro-Team and Pro Club versions. A family file with more than 7 people opens with the first 7, and your file is left as it was.
Keep your pictures in one folder
A ZIP carries its pictures with it. An older .json file lists each picture by its name only, so the card maker has to find the pictures again. The simplest way is to keep all your pictures in one folder, for example Season Memory pictures, and give each picture its own file name. Then point the card maker at that folder:
- Open your saved file with Open a saved file….
- Choose Pictures folder… and pick your pictures folder.
- Each picture the file names is found by its file name, even inside sub-folders. The message says how many matched and lists any still missing.
You can choose the folder before or after you open a file. Capital letters in a name do not matter. If two pictures in the folder share a name, the one with the saved size is used. The card maker only reads the pictures a file asks for, never the whole folder.
Your browser may use the word “upload” when you pick a folder or files. Nothing is uploaded: the pictures are only read on your device. Picking a folder works on computers. On a phone, use a ZIP or Add images….
This prints one card. To print or share a whole team, use Export a PDF on the team page.
- Choose Print card. It prints the side that is showing, so flip the card first to print the back.
- In the print dialog, set the scale to 100% (actual size) and turn on background graphics.
- Print on card stock and trim to size. The card prints at 2.5 × 3.5 inches.
Printing is easiest from a computer. In the demo, the watermark prints too.
Help and tips
My photo is not showing after I opened a saved file
Most likely it is an older .json file, which holds only the picture's name. Choose Pictures folder… and pick the folder your pictures are in, or choose Add images… and select the same picture files. The names must match the ones you used when you saved. Save as a ZIP afterwards, because the pictures then travel with the file.
How do I move my cards to another computer?
Save as a ZIP, copy the ZIP across, and use Open a saved file… on the other computer. The pictures come with it.
The background remover left bits behind
It works best on a plain, even background. Try a higher Tolerance, then use Touch-up to erase or restore the last bits.
The QR code box is empty
The QR code needs an internet connection and a web address in the QR code link box.
The colours look different when I print
Printers vary. Make sure background graphics are on, and try a different paper or the printer's photo setting.
It says my file needs a different plan
Each plan opens its own kind of file. See Choose your plan.
I cannot add another person or player
The Family plan holds 7 people and the Team plan holds 21 players. The Club and Pro Club plans let you add more teams, up to 12.
My fixtures sheet was not read
The first row needs headings, including a Date and an Opponent column (see Pro-Team for the list). Save an old .xls file as .xlsx or CSV first. The message after you upload says how many games were added and how many rows were skipped. Get a blank fixtures sheet gives you a file in the right layout.
The score is the wrong way round
With an Opponent column, 3-1 means your goals first. With Home team and Away team columns, it means home goals first, and the card maker needs your team name to match the sheet so it can turn the score around for away games. You can also correct any score on the Matches screen.
How do I sign in?
Every plan is a 12-month subscription with a login of its own. Sign in on our site and you land on your dashboard, where you open your page. A page opens only for its owner, for a team page its manager, and the site's administrators. Someone who is not signed in is sent to the sign-in page, and anyone else is turned away.
Where is my work saved?
On your own device, as a ZIP. Nothing you make is kept on the website, so keep your ZIP safe. See Save and reopen your work.
Is anything uploaded?
No. Photos stay on your device, and so do your saved ZIPs. See the privacy page.
