Questions
Are my players' photos uploaded anywhere?
No. Photos are handled in your own browser on your own device and are never uploaded to our servers. Nothing about your players, not even their names, is stored on our website: what you make is saved as a ZIP on your own device. Read more on the privacy page.
What devices does it work on?
It runs in your web browser on a phone, tablet or computer, and it is tested in Chrome. Printing is easiest from a computer.
Can I try an example team?
Yes. The live demo has a button to download Bluebridge Wanderers, a full example team with 21 players, a Manager Card and a season of games. Open the demo, choose “Open a saved file” and pick the ZIP you downloaded.
Do I need to be online?
Yes, while you are making a card. The page loads its fonts and QR-code script from the internet.
What size does it print?
2.5 × 3.5 inches, the standard trading-card size. In your print dialog, set the scale to 100% (actual size) and turn on background graphics.
Is this connected to any club, league or video game?
No. Season Memory is an independent product and is not affiliated with or endorsed by any football club, league or video-game publisher.
Is it a one-off payment?
No. Every plan is a 12-month subscription.
Is there two-step login?
Yes. Two-step login asks for a code from an authenticator app on your phone as well as your password. Depending on how the site is set up, you may be asked to switch it on from your profile before you can open your pages. Administrators are never locked out by it.
What happens when my 12 months end?
Your pages are kept but locked, and the dashboard shows a Renew button. Renew and they open again at the same addresses. On a club plan your managers are locked out until you renew. Anything you saved on your own device stays yours, and you can open it in the card maker again once you have renewed.
How do I get in and sign in?
When you subscribe you get a login on our site. Sign in and you land on your dashboard, where you make your page: one page for a Family, Team or Pro-Team plan, or a club page and up to 12 team pages for a Club or Pro Club plan. Each page has its own private address. Only you, the manager you give a team page to, and the site's administrators can open it. Anyone who is not signed in is sent to the sign-in page, and anyone else is turned away.
What is the difference between the plans?
Family makes up to 7 cards in one set and is ideal for 5-a-side. Team makes one team of 21 players. Pro-Team is a Team plus match tools: upload your fixtures from Excel or CSV, save the settings for each game, and see spider graphs of player performance for every game. Club holds up to 12 teams of 21 players, with a page for each team, and lets the club admin invite up to 12 managers, each with their own login that opens only the team pages you give them. Pro Club is a Club in which every team has the Pro-Team match tools. All five have the same card features, and every plan except Family can also add an optional Manager Card to each team. The live demo asks which version you would like to try, and you can switch with the buttons at the top.
What does Pro-Team do?
Upload a fixtures spreadsheet (.xlsx or CSV) and every game appears on a slider across the top. For each game, save the formation, who played where, the substitutes, the captain and a note, then rate the players who played. Each player gets a spider graph for the game, which you can compare with their season card and their previous game. Ratings are typed in the card maker; the spreadsheet carries the fixtures and results. Pro-Team is for one team. On the Pro Club plan every team in the club has the same tools, and the Club plan does not include them.
What should my fixtures spreadsheet look like?
A first row of headings, with a Date column and an Opponent column. Time, home or away, competition and the goals for and against are optional. The instructions list the main headings it recognises, and there is an example sheet to download. It also reads the common Home team and Away team layout.
Is my fixtures spreadsheet uploaded?
No. Your browser reads it on your own device. Only the games you end up with are kept, in the team file you save.
Can I make a card for my manager or coach?
Yes, on the Team, Pro-Team, Club and Pro Club plans. On a team's page, choose “Add a Manager Card”. It is made like a player's card, with a photo or character, six ratings of its own (tactics, motivation, communication, discipline, development and team spirit) and a back with games, wins and draws. In Pro-Team and Pro Club the games, wins and draws can be filled in from the team's saved games. Each team has one Manager Card. It is optional, uses the team's colours and is saved inside the team's ZIP. It is a card, not a login: a club manager's login is what lets someone open a team page.
Can I make a whole team?
Yes, with the Team, Pro-Team, Club or Pro Club plan. First give the team a name and choose its kit colours, then choose "Create a team of 21 players". You get 11 starters and 10 substitutes, in a 4-4-2 to begin with, and you can pick another formation. Tap any player to set up their card, and use "Apply to all players" to give everyone the same team name, colours and badge.
How do club managers work?
On the Club and Pro Club plans, the club admin (the person who bought the plan) signs in to the dashboard, adds a page for each team (up to 12), types a manager's email address, chooses a team and sends an invitation. You can invite up to 12 managers. The manager gets an email with a link to choose a password, signs in and sees only the team page or pages you give them, never the other teams and never the dashboard controls. Use a new email address for each manager: an address that already has an account on the site cannot be invited. They make and edit the cards and save the team as a ZIP on their own device. From each team page's box on the dashboard the admin can choose who looks after it (one manager per team page, and one manager can look after several), send an invitation again, or remove a manager at any time. To bring a team into the club file, the manager sends the admin their team ZIP and the admin opens it on the club page, where it is added as a team.
Can I save my team on the website?
No, and that is deliberate. Everything you save is a ZIP file on your own device, and nothing is kept on our website, so the names and numbers of your players (often children) are not stored on a server. The ZIP holds your cards and their pictures. Keep it somewhere safe or back it up, because we cannot recover it for you. To carry on later, or to use another computer, open the ZIP with “Open a saved file”.
Can I remove a player from my team?
Yes. On the team page choose “Remove players” and tap the player, or open their card and choose “Remove this player”. A Team, Pro-Team or Club team always keeps its 21 positions, so removing a player clears their card and leaves the position free for someone new. In the Family version the person is taken out of the family (at least one person stays).
Can I get a PDF of my team?
Yes. On the team page choose Grid, Formation or List, then “Export … as PDF”. Your browser's print window opens: choose “Save as PDF” as the destination. The PDF follows the view you chose: a page of cards, a pitch laid out in your formation, or a table of players and their numbers. In the demo the PDF carries the watermark.
What is in a saved ZIP?
One data file (.json) with everything about the player, family, team or club (names, positions, stats, colours, settings, awards and where each photo was positioned), plus a copy of every picture you used, in a folder called images. A Pro-Team or Pro Club file also holds the games, game settings and ratings. It is made on your own device and saved to your own device. If you share a ZIP, you are sharing the pictures in it.
Where should I keep my pictures?
Put every picture in one folder, for example "Season Memory pictures", and give each picture its own file name. A ZIP carries its pictures with it, so you only need the folder when you open an older .json file, which lists picture names only: choose "Pictures folder" and pick that folder, and each picture is found by its name. Your browser may use the word "upload" when you pick a folder. Nothing is uploaded; the pictures are only read on your device. Picking a folder works on computers. On a phone, use a ZIP or "Add images".
Can I still open files from earlier builds?
Yes. "Open a saved file" opens a ZIP and also an older .json file from earlier builds. The card maker now saves only as a ZIP, so saving again gives you a ZIP.
Where can I find instructions?
On the instructions page. It explains each section of the card maker, how to make a family, team or club, and how to save and print.
Can I sell the cards or share the maker?
Your subscription is for personal use (Family), for one team (Team or Pro-Team) or for all the teams in one club (Club or Pro Club). Please don't resell or share the card maker itself, or your login.
